Being the municipal centre for the Rohtak district, Rohtak has emerged as the business hub in Haryana, a small state located in the northern part of India. The district is highly dominated by the Jat population. The commissioner takes care of the administration in the district.

The recent developments in Rohtak have increased the demand of mobile technology due to which many private companies have got a chance to establish themselves in this part of the world. Arora Telecommunication Pvt. Ltd. and Tata Tele services Ltd. are some of the private companies which offer broadband, wireless and internet services in Rohtak.
